Last year when I hiked the JMT I took only a photon microlight, and that was
fine; however, for me personally, it was adequate in camp, but I would not
have wanted to rely on it for night hiking.

Regarding the many Petzl/PrincetonTec/BlackDiamond options - whichever you
choose, it will be significantly lighter if you use lithium batteries.
