Welcome! "Travels and Trails" includes journal and information pages from Mara's years of travel on six continents. While this site started with a six-month Appalachian Trail thruhiking journal, journals from over eight months of travel in Asia, 9.5 months in Central and South America, Antarctica and Easter Island, multi-month U.S. road trips, three months in Australia and New Zealand, and many more travel and trail reports have since been added. Also featured are informational pages useful to hikers and travelers whether planning a long-distance backcountry hike, a week-long trip to Paris, or months traveling across continents.
