I wonder what the definition of "closed" is, particularly as it affects the
PCT. Does that mean simply no services or maintenance, or does it mean
fenced, locked, and you'll have to road-walk around them?

Eric

My understanding from last night's newspaper, they would not be fenced, etc. (Though there might be signage.)I am coming to that conclusion due to them talking about what other services that would be withdrawn: maintenance crews, rangers, biologists, architects, life guards (I'm assuming at the beaches, not swimming pools which might actually be fenced) and interpreters. Nothing about an blocking of the parks, which would be very difficult and costly.

I think the scariest part of all is that once closed, what might it take to re-open them. I see this as the end of many, many parks, monuments, etc. Sad.

By the way, was I the only one who didn't know CA is the 8th largest economy in the WORLD??

are we there yet
