73 million hikers each year?
I supose that could be true if you count all the grandmothers hiking
(walking) in the neighborhood parks.
One out of three billion?
That means there are no fatal attacks because there are not three
billion hikers.

Latest federal statistics i could find say that there are over 73
million hikers each year. That means that one out of every 3 billion
hikers gets fatally attacked by a bear. Repeat: ONE OUT OF THREE BILLION.
