[pct-l] self protection recourse?

Can we no longer head out into the mountains without fear of death because we have no right to 
self protection when attacked? 

Who said no right to self-protection? There are a lot of precautions/actions to take without resorting to carrying a gun. 

Your statement seems a little extreme. You are in far more danger every time you get in an automobile, and yet I bet you never think twice about that risk. Don't quote my numbers, but I only know of one death from a black bear in all of this country ( in the great smokies, I think. Grizzly of course is a different story). The odds are so low in comparison to what we do in our daily lives, that for me, the the risk is negligable ande certainly not worth carrying a gun around.
