[pct-l] The weapons question

There are a lot of good logical arguments being made about the merits of
guns in the wilderness. And one would think that if there is any place that
a person should have the option to be legally armed, it would be in the
woods, where there are wild animals and an absence of law enforcement.

But this issue really isn't about guns in the woods. And it's certainly not
about the practical use of weapons for self defense or hunting.

There is an ideological war being waged in this country between two factions
with differing opinions on gun control. The National Parks are just a front
on that battlefield. Neither side cares about it particularly. They only
hope to take it for themselves, and gain a foothold toward their greater
goal.

It's a scrap of meat being tugged at by two rabid dogs. As soon as the scrap
is claimed and devoured, the winner will go right for the jugular of the
other.
