Yeah,  May is iffy. It's usually plenty warm, but it can get plenty cold.

I picked up a Golite poncho tarp for $50 from my local outfitter. About 11
ounces, and works pretty well as either a poncho or a tarp. Not quite big
enough to act as a tarp over my hammock, though.

Have a fund hike.
