No 90s in NNY. We hit 80 a week or so ago but the temperature is running in
the 50's mostly now occasionally into the 60s. We've had black flies off and
on for about 10 days depending on the temperature and wind. I've spent 2
days wandering around the Tooley Pond Rd., a mostly unpopulated road that
wanders along the South Branch of the Grass River. Not hiking as such. You
drive a bit, park and hike to the river which is sometimes in view of the
road and sometimes quite a ways through the woods, hike back out and then
drive and park a bit farther on. The object is to see the numerous
waterfalls & rapids along that section of river. I took photos of course
including some of spring growth, ferns, trillium, etc. I'll post a batch to
my Picasa albums and put a link here after they are up.
