[at-l] Hiawassee Holiday Inn

Gawd, that's awful. Last June, on the final section of my southbound hike, I
stayed there for 2 nights. They were so sweet to me, and it was worth the cost.
After I was all signed in the lady behind the counter asked for my dirty clothes
and she ran them through the hotel's washer, gratis, brought them back folded!!
I don't know if she had a thing for older guys with beards or what, but she was
always asking if I needed things. (It just occured to me that maybe I just
looked clueless!) A very nice memory there in Hiawassee. --RockDancer (who's
going to get his journal entries uploaded one day.)

Just got off the fone with my good buddy Sundown. He and Fireman are at the
Holiday Inn Express in Hiawassee. He tells me that as of last week, there will
be no hiker discounts at the Inn because of the actions of several groups of
hikers starting out this season. Thought I'd heads-up anyone who might want to
know that....
