[at-l] Bad weather hits Georgia

Hey everyone!  Long time no typee.  Lol

 

I just got back from spending the night with Pacer at Woody Gap.  He went
down to Springer with Fireman and Eric (didn't catch his trail name).  They
left Springer on Friday morning and hiked through some serious storms.
Yesterday, they encountered pea-sized hail and very high winds.  The thru
hikers I met looked battle worn and weary already.

 

Last night at Woody Gap the wind never stopped howling.  The moon came out
for quite a while though.  We tented just north of the parking lot in a rock
alcove.  It did shelter us quite a bit, however, the winds still slammed
through the trees all night.  It was one of those nights you just hope you
have strong limbs hangin above ya. Eeekkk!

 

Pacer and I headed back out today (he's headed back to work).  But Fireman
and Eric are headed on up to Hot Springs and then on to the PCT.  If ya see
them on the way tell them we said howdy, and give them a piece of cake.
Tell them I forgot it in the van.  hehehehe
