I use the Treo 650. While I was on the trail I was able to update my trail journal and check my email....often right in my tent at night. I didn't have to wait to access the Internet while I was in town (although I would use it if I didn't have to wait since it is still nicer to have a full PC to use). I do not have a home phone and have not for almost 4 years now. The only problem I have had with it relates to use of the headset....the connection has given me problems.

Yo,
Ohoh cell phone topic! I have been looking at the Iphone and
other smart phones. What I am considering is to turn off my home phone
and DSL and use a smart phone with tethering (thats what they call
Internet service from your cell phone to pc) with a notebook pc. I plan
to be on the road a lot and the combined cost of home service and cell
phone service is comparable to Smart phone service with everything.
There are many smart phones available like Blackberrys etc. Anyone
have experience or advice on these devices?
