[at-l] Hike

Hi Gang,
             Yesterday I drove up to 42 (40 miles north of Pearisburg, 
VA). Sawnie was scheduled to meet Rockdancer there at 13:00. The 120 
mile drive took me a little longer than I expected and I was afraid I 
might miss them. I was checking out the occupants of every car I met on 
42 , looking to see if it might be them. There were no cars at the trail 
crossing so I drove about a mile (629/630) to check out the parking lot 
closest to the Kieffer Oak. When i got back to 42 I met Sawnie there and 
got out my folding chair so we could sit and talk.
    In a short while Rockdancer arrived sporting blown out hiking boots! 
Those boots must have a lot of miles on them. They looked like they 
might completely disintegrate in two more miles. We drove to the Walmart 
in Pearisburg where Arthur bought a pair of running shoes as a temporary 
replacement for his boots.
    Back on the trail, our next task was to move two wildlife camera's 
to new locations about a mile from their current placement. I just took 
a peak at the pictures and I see nothing special. Just some deer. After 
replacing the batteries and swapping out the memory cards we placed the 
cameras in their new locations. Rockdancer continued on to Sarver 
Shelter and I ran back to my car and headed home.
    On the way home there was a tree across highway 220. Traffic was 
stopped for over an hour. When I got home it was almost midnight. Today 
I guess my excitement will be cutting the grass and reading some PCT 
journals.
