[at-l] Hiking the AT using a car

One of the thruhikers in 2003 used a car when he was in New  England.
Drove it ahead, cached food in a bear bag half way from his start point  to
where he would leave the truck (covered it with leaves & attached it to  a 
tree). 
Then he went ahead, dropped off the truck & hitched or shuttled back to  
where 
he wanted to start his hike & hiked back to the truck.
