Maybe someone is headed that way (or back) & can give you a  lift?.

Gutsy is planning a 2-3 wk hike on the  AT in VA in June.  She wants to start 
in the vicinity of Buena Vista and  end at Harper's Ferry.

The question:  what would be a good  arrangement for bus and/or train 
transportation to the trailhead?   

One option we are considering is bus to Roanoke and car shuttle  to the 
trailhead.  If necessary, I will drive her from home (upper  SC) to Buena Vista.  
For the return we are considering Amtrak from  Harper's Ferry to Greenville.
