[at-l] Weary

I'm here. I read the list when I can. But it's been a busy summer. In addition to putting out two newsletters for Maine Chapter AMC and MATC, we have a large garden that is about it's peak of production -- in both vegetables and weeds. We've produced 2 dozen jars of strawberry jam, a lot of frozen beans, A dozen pints of "bread and butter" pickles, eaten a lot of summer squash and other stuff, and are about to can a batch of pickled "dilly beans."

I've also shot one woodchuck and live-trapped two others -- and a baby raccoon -- all of which I transported a few miles away, where I don't think there are competing gardens. At least I drove around the neighborhood and didn't see any.

For undetermined reasons my mail server rejects messages sort of at random. I plan on investigating the cause when I get a chance. We plan on spending next weekend camping in the Whites, near Gorham. Then I need to get out another newsletter announcing the annual meeting of our town land trust.

In odd moments I'm clearing some multifloral roses that have spread disastrously over my two acres. Well, I was until I got too close to a hornets nest. I've gotten some spray, but haven't used it yet.
