When we hiked the Camino in 2002, northern Spain was covered in those huge windmills. I found them quite beautiful. I don't remember there being any excess of power lines. In fact, I don't remember seeing any power lines to them at all. At one point, we hiked right under the windmills, and they made almost no noise. They spun fairly slowly. The power company had put up a really spectacular Camino artwork where we crossed over the ridge and under a windmill. I didn't find them to be an intrusion. Painting them to look like flowers would make them absurd, IMHO. Let them be what they are. anklebear
