Try the KTA website.there is information, however I think that you will have to 
buy the trail guide.  A lot of through hikers complain about the rocks and lack of 
water on the AT in PA, but the Mid-State is even worse.  The views make it 
spectacular though.  I hiked only a very small section many years ago while 
clearing brush.
