[at-l] Crosswords get my vote

My vote is on crosswords.  I find I can ponder some difficult clues while walking.  I'm not good enough at sudoku to be able to do that.  Imagine that mental feat, to work a sudoku in one's head.  One good Sunday NYT puzzle can keep me occupied for days on the trail.  And once in a while I'll learn something really arcane.  I like sudoku, too, and am getting better at them, but for the trail I still prefer crosswords.  I no longer carry a book.  Thanks for the reminder to buy a puzzle book before I hit the trail this year.  Garlic.
