In my head, this is how it went down:

10 years ago today
Woke up in the campground just outside Millinocket.  Readied our gear 
and had breakfast.  I forget where we left Tom's car, but we got a hitch 
with two guys that took us all the way to Katahdin Stream Campground.  
We left out packs at the ranger's station and headed up the Big K.  
Somewhere shortly after getting above treeline, Pokey decided to tell me 
that she was agorafobic and she crumbled to the ground a sobbing mess. 
Tom told me to go on up the K and he'd take Pokey back down the hill. A 
beautiful day greeted me at the sign that I happily kist and I turned 
and started walking south, something I was going to do a lot of the next 
5 months.  It was just about dusk when I got to Daicy Pond and I was 
happy to see a fortified fortituded Pokey.   It was a good day.
