[at-l] Searching for old at-l post concerning thru success

Hello, All-  I wandered around the search engines and found an at-l posting from 1999, I believe, about the types of thruhikers, and reasons for completion and non-completion. Now, because I am scatterbrained, I can't relocate it. 

The post talked about hikers who found reasons to leave their hike; hikers who continued hiking even though there were reasons to leave; mileage and task accomplishment-focused thruhikers; and natural world experience-focused hikers.

Can anyone help me find this, or the text? I'd greatly appreciate any assistance. Thanks!
