A section is anything from point A to point B...and, you set where the 
two points are. I'd recommend trying to go for more than a week.  Long 
enough that you have to (or, need to) have a town stop/resupply.  And, 
if possible, it's nice to know where point A is, but have point B be 
flexible. Have the time be the solid and the mileage be adjustable. 

Then again, I don't like cheez whiz... so, what do I know
