[at-l] Getting the best responses on AT-L (was '08 thru-hiker asks advise)

Hi Monty,

The more specific the question you have, the better and more thorough the answers you're likely to get. Also, if you come up with a bunch of questions, rather than put them all into one long email, split them up and put each question into its own email with an appropriate subject line.

Space out the questions a bit. You'll find many of the same people respond to all of the issues but if they're inundated on any one day, their answers will be shorter than if they're only answering a couple of questions on any given day. You've got plenty of time to do this so start now.

Many of the same questions have come up over the years. Sometimes the answers change, sometimes they stay the same. You can look (and search) through the AT-L archives for some information and it may provide a basis for asking more questions.

I've used my own answers to questions previously asked on AT-L to help populate my web site. See the sig line below for a link to my Travels and Trails site.

Best of luck and have a great hike!
