Wishing I could be at the Gathering.....  Anyway, I want to do a two 
week section either of the John Muir Trail or somewhere along the AT 
next summer.  This will be a primer for a thru-hike in '09 to see if I 
actually like long distance hiking and if I can physically do it.  So 
the question is...what is the best 2 week section of the AT in your 
opinion?  I have been to Mt Washington, Lonesome Lake, and The Old Man 
in the Mountains NH (before exfolaition) and even though I love that 
part of the world I would like to see something new.  I've also been 
thru Carlisle PA several times but it doesn't seem to be listed an any 
books as a resupply point.  Has the trail been moved away from there?  
Is it considered a truck stop and not for hikers?  Always liked it there 
when I was driving a truck...  Thanks
