Good affternoon y'all.
Thanks for the update Felix. But you forgot, you were supposed to stick around long enough and head on home via Gettysburg/the Gathering !! Sounds like your hike was real nice. I love hiking on the Creeper, and Mt. Rogers is beautiful.
I'm in Harpers Ferry right now, there is no cell reception, but I found a little cafe that has WIFI. Thank goodness. Isn't that backwards? There should be cell reception, no? before WIFI ?
Chase....I was standing behind Blackburn Trail Center looking up the mountain when a southbounder was walking down the blue blaze from the A.T.....I thought it was you....he continued on down, walked down the stone staircase, then tripped and fell FLAT on his face. He had a grey fur wolf hat on. It stayed on his head when he hit the ground. I yelled CHASE! And he said "chase what?!"....it wasn't you. HA !
Hiked up to the top of the mountain over Blackburn, clear blue skies and it was a cool 55 degrees. It was quite beautiful. I hiked about a mile when I realized that I left my things inside of the cabin and the caretakers were leaving in 15 minutes and my things would be locked up inside. So this morning, I actually RAN on the A.T.! First time. Running down the mountain/blue blaze I remembered that the hiker had fallen so I better be careful. As I was hopping down the stones, I saw the caretaker backing up to drive away. I suddenly felt like a TV commercial....can she do it??? Yes...she did. I ran like hell.
Okay, off on another adventure....picking up Weathercarrot at Dulles airport in a few hours then off to Mechanicsburg PA to spend a few days with Ishmael. I'll be heading over to Gettysburg on Thursday.
Hope to see most of you this weekend...if not...REAL SOON.
Love to all-
Marsha
