Just got home from TDz. Had a fantastic time this year...AGAIN. Little sunburned.

Friday afternoon got there about 4:30 and immediately got to organizing the hiker feed with Tin Man.
It seems that our hiker feed...now in it's THIRD year...is such a good idea that someone copied it and did
it at the campground. It's all for the hikers...but I am a bit miffed. All I am going to say. You know who you are.
And what you said last year.

We fed about 120-140 people and we sold raffle tickets. Dutch Treat played and I LOVE to hear him play.

In a sign that 'All is Right With the World' the last burger went to Miss Janet.

After the hiker feed...Puppy Dawg and I walked around so that I could indeed prove to her that our
neighborhood is larger than Big D. It is. We had ice cream...shopped a bit...and felt a few rain drops.

For the record...it did not rain from Friday afternoon to when I left today at 1:00. A RARE EVENT.
A RARE RARE RARE EVENT.

Saturday morning met up with 4 fellow hikers at the Abingdon end of the Creeper Trail.
We all set out to go 8.5 miles to the Alvarado Station. Spoken...Al-va-ray-do. Learn something everyday.
We were met at the other end by my life-long friends, and somehow eight people fit in a Toyota Highlander.
I am still pondering that one. The walk was great, and that section of the Creeper is just amazing.
Once you get out of Abingdon...it's out thru the country and over these huge trestles and sheer cliffs. Just beautiful.

Saturday afternoon went to Big D to shop, let Puppy Dawg see what it is all about, and go to the parade...with squirt guns.
I told Blondie and Puppy Dawg...if you accept these two squirt guns you are accepting war.
You are agreeing to get doused...and they did. I'll get you next year Marta. And Jan. You can't always be on
the other side of the street. I'll get you...and your little dog too.

After the parade, we went to Tin Man's to sort out the prizes for Leave a Trace. And then we had the giveaway.
Jan Liteshoe won the TV. WTG JAN. And a gentleman from Kansas won the big prize. He was stunned. And his wife cried.
They were so sweet. SO SWEET!!!!

After that...'The Group' went to dinner at the Mill. Wine was ordered. And that's all I can say about that.

After dinner...I took Puppy Dawg to the campground so she could see the drum circle. Some guy asked her
if she was the cashier at Cowboys and then winked at her. But she was well protected. And she danced a little.

This morning...we got up and shuttled a few in Big D and then came home in the afternoon.

Had a blast. And how was your weekend?

Dawg

Ps. To the one person I know is reading this...could've been you. Love overcomes anything.
