[at-l] here I am... (and a used car P.S.)

Felix wins. I only had six stitches. But it wasn't the stitches that were
the real story. It was the infection that followed that kept me in Erwin
for nine days. I kept having to go back to the hospital for injections of
Rosefrin, an antibiotic, in the butt. So, I would go to the hospital, get
the shot, and walk out limping. When people asked what the problem was, I
would say "I hurt my elbow." for some reason, I got a lot of blank stares.
Anyway, I ended up hanging out at Uncle Johnny's for most of that time and
as hikers came and went, I kept being pointed out as "she's got stitches,"
"that's the woman who fell and got stitches," etc. My last night in town, I
was bestowed with the trail name "Stitches."

This time, I walked into Erwin eight years to the day after I got those
stitches. Once I got into town safely, I thought, "well, at least this time
I won't be spending nine days here in Erwin." Nope! I spent 16 days in
Erwin this time.  Blame Miss Janet.  ;-}
