Grey Owl,
I totally agree with you.
My fellow Americans, we are a tough breed...whether you know it or not. We
are not wimps. We can do anything we want to accomplish. We can do anything
we put our minds to. We can build magnificent structures and paint and
produce music and endure hardships and revel in the good times and marvel at
the beauty of life.
We do not break in time of need...we rise to the challenge. I hope that we
don't forget that.
And if you don't mind, I will borrow a quote from our great compatriot from
across the pond Winston Churchil.
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever give up.
Patriot Dawg, and most definitely a non-wimp.

the wimpification of America. This may sound strange coming from a former
beat and hippie, but even as a small child I spent most of my time outside.
People at work do nothing but whine about how hot or cold it is in the
building much less what the weather is like outside. I went for my usual
noon time walk yesterday and when I returned on of the ladies looked at me
in horror. Did I not know that the wind was blowing the the temperature was
18 F (that's -8 C for you Canadians eh?). So the wind chill factor was
below zero, the air was fresh and crisp and I got to stretch my legs. All
in all a nice walk.

Who wants to go to the great white north eh?
