as always, I'm a bit iffy . . .
this year starts with a trip to Hard Labor Creek State Park with my daughter
who wants me to join her peering through the lens of the Georgia State
University telescope there: she needs the trip for academic credit; I need
it to get started . . . I'll bring the dutch oven to cook a sag gost paneer
for any of her friends who care to join her . . . that's the 30th & 31st of
March . . .
thereafter my brother returns, on 2 April, from places abroad . . . his wife
has reserved a cabin at the northern bottom of Blood Mountain, Vogel State
Park . . . I've taken the week as a vacation . . . the Coosa Backcountry
loop trail beckons . . . maybe a shot at the summit from the hollow, who
knows? there'll be a lamb curry and some lamb kabobs for my brother's family
one evening . . .
I'm inviting these two 30's something women to meet my brother since they
are interested in third world development initiatives like micro credit and
land ownership in southern Africa . . .
but the rest of the time I'll be hiking, trying to find my legs . . . for
the rest of the year . . .
