There are many posts that contribute much to my knowledge about the AT or  
indicate that people are attempting to "do the AT" that I learn from but do not  
reply to.  As you said, if the sentences are complete and a cogent  
explanation is provided, often it does not call for a response.  So I agree  that 
valuable thoughts do get absorbed over time. 
 
Thanks for your contributions.  The AT is a magnet that attracts the  
attention of many.  Some want to "do the trail" and rush from end to end  and miss a 
lot of it in their rushing.  Some savor each mile and enjoy the  ups and downs 
for what they find as they observe nature and that includes the  wildlife 
which includes the people met along the way.  Others take  opportunity to explore 
a particular point in the trail or some blue marked trail  leading to a view 
or a waterfall.  Some walk one section and then skip to  another section.  The 
experiences of many are varied.  
 
I may have mentioned that my experience of traveling to Springer Mountain  
from NYC on the "midnight train to Georgia" was an anticipatory delight.   The 
trip back to NYC was a reflective ache.  The whole experience was  wonderful.  
It will be added to from time to time.
