There are many posts that contribute much to my knowledge about the AT or
indicate that people are attempting to "do the AT" that I learn from but do not
reply to. As you said, if the sentences are complete and a cogent
explanation is provided, often it does not call for a response. So I agree that
valuable thoughts do get absorbed over time.
Thanks for your contributions. The AT is a magnet that attracts the
attention of many. Some want to "do the trail" and rush from end to end and miss a
lot of it in their rushing. Some savor each mile and enjoy the ups and downs
for what they find as they observe nature and that includes the wildlife
which includes the people met along the way. Others take opportunity to explore
a particular point in the trail or some blue marked trail leading to a view
or a waterfall. Some walk one section and then skip to another section. The
experiences of many are varied.
I may have mentioned that my experience of traveling to Springer Mountain
from NYC on the "midnight train to Georgia" was an anticipatory delight. The
trip back to NYC was a reflective ache. The whole experience was wonderful.
It will be added to from time to time.
