[at-l] Goodbye Listers

Hi Slim,

Don't be too quick to give up... I also frequently get no or very limited
responses to my posts. I think I've figured out why. And I think your
posts may fall into the same category.

When I post, I try to post complete thoughts, and if relevant present both
sides to arguments, and why I might think one side makes more sense than
another. I don't attack others' positions and stear clear of the politics
that makes up much of the list traffic at times.

By doing so, I suspect information gets absorbed and appreciated but elicits
little follow-up.

I frequently use my posts here as the basis for new pages on my web site.
Through statcounter software, I eventually see which of my web pages get
traffic, which have links from other places, etc. Knowing how useful others
find my web site not only makes the web site worthwhile to maintain, but
also lets me know that my posts here are also worthwhile.

There are times when I want or need a response and if so, I try to ask
specific questions and try not to bury them in long messages.

So anyway, however much you decide to participate here, best of luck with
your hike and have a great time out there. Keep a lookout for me. I'll
probably be hitting the trail on the 14th.

Take care,

Mara
