[at-l] ALDHA Member passes on - Steve Duyser - "Never Through"

I am sorry to hear of Steve Duyser's death.  I met Steve at the  Dartmouth 
Dining Hall during the Gathering in Hanover, NH, in 2005.  I saw  him the next 
morning at the campgrounds after a very wet night of camping, and  on Monday I 
caught a ride with him to Waterbury, CT to the train station.   On the way 
there we stopped by his home where I met his father.  
 
A brief weekend encounter over three days, let me see his compassionate  side 
as he talked about friends, and the AT, and his family.  Since that  time we 
corresponded sporadically but enough to keep in touch.  I had hoped  to see 
him at the 2007 Gathering but this is not to be.  
 
Even though I knew him for just an instant in the realm of time he made an  
impact.  We had agreed to hike the AT in Connecticut "sometime."  When  I hike 
in CT I will think of him.
