It's all great info, Sloetoe! Thanks. (I snipped just to save space.) And 
occasionally I DO need a reminder to keep doing exercises and stretches that 
are meant for this kind of thing.  I had success when I was doing them 
regularly, but then again, I was under orders to 'take it easy' as far as 
activity goes.

Yes, the day after some over-exertion (which is probably what it'd be 
considered, given that I have done that activity in about 2 months) is 
probably not the best day to moan about aches.  Unfortunately, I can't take 
the OTC anti-inflammatories, and I don't have any Rx ones anymore (or viable 
Rx for that matter).  I think I need to continue what I've been doing 
(exercising regularly) and make a good effort to do specific knee exercises.

Absolutely helps!  I've certainly done research and more research, but I 
like to hear about other folks' issues and remedies too..
