[at-l] Digital camera question

It means no *optical* viewfinder. You have to use the LCD screen on the back
of the camera to compose. Not as big a deal as it seems, since most people
shoot that way anyway with point-and-shoot digicams. The two drawbacks are
1) shorter battery life, and 2) glare on the screen in bright sunlight.
