An alternative to a poncho is the Packa <http://www.thepacka.com/>.
You can't use it as a tarp but it is much better than a poncho. Ed
Hinnant custom made one for me to fit over my frame pack. It comes
down to about my knees and covers me & the pack. Check it out.
