As long as losing weight is part of the discussion I'll jump in too.
Between Nov. '05 and Nov. '06 I lost 75#. Actually I didn't "lose" it.
I deliberately got rid of it. No long distance hikes to report though.
I continue to maintain an Adirondack lean-to and took several photo
hikes. Our daughter bought a house that needed work and I spent quite
a bit of my late summer/fall on that. All in  all, it was a good year.
