What a sweet story! As many of you know, I joined the list kind of looking for sympathy from being left behind by my mailman husband for a "hiker." The friendliness on this list to me and in general has made up in many ways for the desertion, and my day yesterday was filled with well-wishes from friends and daughters. To make this post trail-related, I have to say that I should have told him to hit the trail a long time ago. Time is a great healer, and thanks to all of you who pointed that out to me.

I look forward to reading more stories from all of you.

 Happy Day-After

 Mary

Yesterday was valentines day. Turned out to be snowy, icey, miserable day.
What does one get ones spouse, signifcant other, etc after being married almost
38 yrs (in May, but then who is counting). Neither of us need candy, I am way
over weight and my wife is a few pounds over what she weighed when we got
married. I didn't buy flowers as a number of my orchids are blooming and roses
cannot compete with the orchids.

I ended up driving to work. The center had a 2 hr delay in opening so I got up
and fixed breakfast for both of use. and then off to work. I get to work just
in time to find out that they are going to close the building in an hour. So I
drove two hours to work to work only 2 hrs. I had several things to do and I
ended up working 2 hrs and had only an 1.5 hr drive home.

When I got home I fixed supper (stew with a nice claret to drink). I had bought
my darling wife a sweater and a book with knotting patterns. She bought me one
of Tinman's cooking sets. Needless to say that we were both very happy.

Actually Valentines day is not just one day, but should be celebrated 365 days a
year. On that note I am taking my wife out to dinner on Friday followed by a
concert.

Hope that all of you had a wonderful valentines day with the one you (If you
can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with ;-)

Bob
