After Sloetoe's long winded rant on OneLove (Good post dude!)...
Rather than the Quakers, one of my inspirations in hiking is an old Shaker
hymn.
I can't say I know many of the words, but I know the important ones;
"Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free"
I can read much of my hiking life into those two lines.
Ginny, I agree with you about missing something by only hitting the
highlights;
I wish had enough relavation to see that everything is good, but my glasses
aren't
always that rosy. My take is that if you don't see some of the lows how do
you
know the highs are high? Some rough path along the way just makes the sweet
all the sweeter to me...
