We're expecting more snow tonight (NNY near the Quebec border). I'm staying
home. I never go for New Years anyway. Sitting at home by the fire is just
too appealing. This evening I measured the snow in the State Forest where I
x-country ski. About 21". That has settled at least 5-6" since falling,
probably more. Unlike NH though it has been too warm here for building ice.
There are sections of the ski trails (in the hollows) where there is open
standing water and the trail has had to reroute around them and the river is
only partially frozen. Our temperatures are hovering right around freezing,
cold enough to snow and keep most of the snow but not enough to freeze all
the water.

Happy New Year all. May it be a healthy and prosperous one for everyone.
