I quit in 1966. I was getting married and decided it was an expensive habit
that I didn't need. For some people it is just a habit and they can quit
fairly easily by breaking their habit pattern (like you and I). With others
it is a physical addiction and quitting is much more difficult.
Unfortunately that is the case with my daughter. She watched a friend die
from smoking a couple years ago and swore that she was going to quit. She's
still smoking.

More power to everyone who has resolved to quit. I hope you all succeed.
