Art,  Being a city guy and all that I was under the impression that  snow on 
the roof provides a degree of Insulation and helps to keep the heating  costs 
to a minimum.  One thing about getting on the roof tops with as much  snow as 
you have had is that if you do fall off you just land on the soft white  
stuff.  
 
I will be moving (part time) to New Hampshire -- just 10 miles East of  
Brattleboro, VT, and about the same North of the Massachussets border.  I  hope to 
walk up Mt. Monadonack in mid 2008.  
 
I figure the walking from the Condo to the center of town will be good  
exercise.
