I'm looking to find long underwear in a fabric that is similar to the "old" 
capilene - not the newer stuff.  I wore it when I left Springer in Mar of 
97, and I'm still wearing the same items today because I can't find a 
replacement.  I tried Patagonia's new version of capilene and it just isn't 
the same - seems heavier and not as soft, and you don't get that "instant 
warm" feeling from the moment you put it on.

I gave some of my good old capilene to my niece who is a student in NYC. 
Being a California girl she is freezing in the streets of New York, and she 
was amazed when she put the capilene on.

My son told me he thinks Patagonia is using a more sustainable method of 
manufacturing which is why they changed the fabric, but I'm not so sure. 
I've written them about it but didn't get much satisfaction.  So if anyone 
has bought a brand that they know compares favorably I would like to know 
what it is.  thanks.
