I think the next named hurricane could be a doozy.? The name on tap:? Felix.? I'm packing and getting out of the state.?? The thought is so scary, and the urge to bolt is so strong, that?I don't even have time to eat ice cream.


To make it hiking related, noted last night?on the trail nearest my home, the vanilla plant Carphephorus odoratissimus?(lovely purple flowers on a tall stalk) is in bloom.? You can see it here:

It really does smell like vanilla, and the scent is?lovely when you pass it on the trail.? Before everything became artificial, they used to use its vanilla-scented leaves in pipe tobacco.? When it starts blooming, I know that fall in Florida is on its slow way.
