[at-l] I believe this plane crashed right on the AT

Yep, he rather accurately located it: between Rte 50/Ashby Gap and Rte 
55/I-66 Manassas Gap near Lindon. There are a series of towers just off 
the trail, visible in the first photo. There is a huge and glorious 
trillium bloom near there in the Spring. I have seen the remains of the 
remains of the wreckage, just a few pieces of metal, now.
