Well, mine was closer to 30# with food, in the same year. I was using a
JanSport D3, a moderately heavy pack, but I carried no shelter. Same stove,
with a Sigg pot, a hammock, etc.etc. I still don't consider 30# heavy, but
perhaps by today's standards it is. Most of the guys I was hiking with were
carrying similar weight.
