Here are some candidate fuels, not meant to be an exhaustive (pun intended)
list:
Denatured Alcohol (probably at the top of the list, right?)
Isopropyl Alcohol (is this the same as Rubbing Alcohol?)
Heet (Yellow bottle)
Heet (Red bottle)
Single malt scotch
151 Rum
Gas line antifreeze (variety of makers?)>>>>
Isopropyl is what's in rubbing alcohol, with a certain percentage of
water. This one should
be at the bottom of your list because of very low heat output.
I'll again caution on unknown gas line antifreezes since some contain
petroleum distalates
which could change your trail name to "Cinder"... try to stick with
ones your familiar with.
You could find a safe area (large empty parking lot would do, or a
sand pit) and test various
samples. I'd recommend a LONG match <g>
Another expensive way to run your stove along with scotch and 151 rum
is Everclear (not available
in all states), essentially straight grain alcohol with a liquor stamp <g>
