That's a really good point.  Extremes of weather should be expected.
Another argument for layers.

The variability of conditions, from day to day or even hour to hour, is
dramatic.  In my first week in GA (early April) we had everything from
75 degree afternoons to sub-freezing nights with frozen rain.
