I had studied the "Lonely Planet" guide, so I knew
how to answer that one: Christmas!

In Santa Fe, I dropped into some outfitters shop
on Montezuma Ave.  A young fella behind the
counter noticed the AT logo on my shirt.  Then
mentioned he'd thru-hiked in 2004.  So he had
some fun going through the section hike pix that
were still on my digicam.  Small world.
