[at-l] Headlamps

I've had the Zipka original edition and the new 4-LED version, along with
several Photon lights. The new Zipka/Tikka is pretty nice; I prefer the head
attachment system of the Zipka. (I hesitate to call it a headband.) I
remember reading somewhere that these lights aren't voltage regulated, so
they cannot be used with the new lithium AAA batteries -- someone please
correct me if I am wrong. But I do get many months of use out of one set of
batteries.

The new Zipka/Tikka has three light levels, which makes it a lot easier to
read in camp without blinding myself.

I recall being amazed at the 3-oz weight of my first Zipka. Now I am
thinking it's too heavy, and that I will carry my newest Photon with the
little alligator clip attachment. Mine is a special edition with some nifty
features:

I'm out of here this weekend for a 3-day hike in Virginia. I'm going to
bring both the Photon and the Zipka, and just not use the bigger headlamp
and see how that works for me.
