Hey, great picture! I'm still unpacking from the weekend so I'm sort-of
wondering how you got this so quick... It was a great & wonderful surprise to
have Mrs. Gorp & Stumpknocker join in for awhile on both Saturday and Sunday. We
hosted 8 or so nobo hikers on Sat, and then about 6 more on Sunday. I thought it
would all get wrapped up by 5 PM and then a couple more came in, the last was
Salt with her dog Pepper. We finished at 7:30 PM.
Boulder (class of '06) was there for the weekend to great his classmates. With a
broken 2nd metatarsal he's hobbling about in an aircast and wishing he could
just dive back into hiking with them. It's still up in the air if he'll get back
on the trail in September. Everyone wished him luck.
Otherwise the weather was very nice, with a strong high pressure area making the
Presidentials a great experience for the hikers. Cooler temps than expected on
Sat night though, I'm sure it was in the 40's. I spent some time napping,
hearing stories, eating red raspberries and collecting some nice puffball
mushrooms for supper tonight!
I still have a 3-day hike report to make, will send it later. --RockDancer

Hi-
This picture will serve as a reminder why I should be living closer to the AT.
