Fun Chinese Fortune cookie fortunesWhile so many fortunes are no longer even fortunes, sometimes it can seem funny how they might be relevant.Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. [This pretty much summarizes my Priorities page.] Buy things because you need them, not because they are on sale. [This also helps achieve my priorities.] The fortune you seek is in another cookie. A good memory is fine but the ability to forget is the one true test of greatness. [Hmm, I'll have to work on this one.] Strong convictions precede great actions. You (sic) life will be happy and peaceful. Adversity willingly undergone is the greatest virtue. It is not the outside riches but the inside ones that produce happiness. It is a silly fish that is caught twice with the same bait. Progress always involves risk. Follow the middle path. Neither extreme will make you happy. The greatest mistake a man can make is to be afraid of making a mistake. It is not the outside riches but the inside ones that produce happiness. [Figured this out a long time ago.] You thrive on adventure, try something new [I got this one in Ridgecrest, CA on June 13, 2003 as I was contemplating leaving the PCT. I hiked on for another week or so and then left the trail and did a ten week road trip.] You never hesitate to tackle the most difficult problems [My job, at the time, was high level tech support. I was responsible for handling many of the issues others couldn't handle.] You will have good luck and overcome many hardships [I like the good luck part of this but I'm not crazy about having to overcome hardships.] This is a time for love and affection. [I'm still waiting...] You are one of the people who "goes places in life." [Literally, I hope.] Grasp opportunities to create the future. [My forte.] You will step on the soil of many countries. [20+ and counting as of 1/07. Nearly 40 as of 8/09.] You will travel far and wide for both pleasure and business. You have inexhaustible wisdom and power. [Uh, right.] You feel restless - change is just around the corner. [I think I have turned this corner.] Last updated, August 4, 2013. |
